Parents & mentors

Prepare caring adults before opening a youth pathway.

Oaks is developing distinct, age-appropriate student resources, Nothing Is Hidden and Nothing Stays Hidden. Youth materials and enrollment are not released here. Parents, mentors, and churches can begin by discussing readiness with Oaks.

Questions for the adults responsible

  • Who will provide pastoral oversight and safeguarding leadership?
  • Which age group and approved materials are appropriate?
  • How will parent or guardian involvement and any required consent be handled?
  • How will trained adults respond to a disclosure without creating public exposure or promising absolute confidentiality?
  • What communication, supervision, and reporting procedures must be in place?

Ask about the current status of parent and mentor preparation. A church should confirm its safeguarding responsibilities with the appropriate leaders before planning a youth group.
